We are excited to announce that Dr. Matt Bromwich, Pediatric ENT Surgeon, Associate Professor of Otolaryngology at the University of Ottawa, and Director of Core Innovation at CHEO-RI, will be speaking at the Alder Hey Innovation Conference.
Dr. Bromwich is an experienced founder, TEDTalker, and inventor of multiple medical devices, including DizzyFIX, ClearScope, SHOEBOX, and MODICA, and holds five additional medical patents. He has dedicated his career to democratising access to medical care by delivering innovative and cost-effective solutions.
At CHEO-RI, Dr. Bromwich leads innovation impacting more than 2 million Canadians across 8 hospitals, with a commercialisation purchasing power exceeding $2 billion. He has published over 50 papers and five book chapters on Otolaryngology and has held over $18 million in grant, research, and investment funding.
Dr. Bromwich’s work has been widely recognised. In 2014, he won the national TELUS Award for mHealth Innovation. He was nominated for the E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2016, and his team won the 2016 Interface Health Challenge and the David E Mitchell Prize at the 2018 Manning Innovation Awards. He is currently launching a national MedTech Venture Studio focused on medical devices and digital health.
