On 12th January 2024, we were delighted to welcome Wes Streeting, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, to Alder Hey’s Innovation Hub.
During his visit, clinicians showcased some of the pioneering solutions being developed to address real-world challenges faced by children and young people. These included the digital Mental Health Referral Hub and the innovative Asthma Mapping project, both aimed at improving care and access for young patients.
Wes met with key members of staff driving forward these impactful programmes, gaining insight into how innovation at Alder Hey is making a tangible difference in paediatric healthcare.
The visit formed part of the Labour Party’s launch of its ‘Child Health Action Plan’, offering a valuable opportunity to share our perspective on the current challenges in child health and how we’re working to overcome them through creative, forward-thinking solutions.
