We were delighted to welcome a very special guest to the Alder Hey Innovation Hub – one of our incredible cardiac patients, Orla, along with her family.
Their visit marked an exciting milestone for our Little Hearts at Home programme, as they officially joined our Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) Group, helping to shape the future of care for children with heart conditions.
During their time with us, Orla and her family got a behind-the-scenes look at the work we’re doing to support families beyond the hospital walls. One of our most exciting developments is the new Parental Portal – a digital platform designed to give families the tools, information and support they need at home. This project is proudly funded by the British Heart Foundation and Alder Hey Children’s Charity.
Family involvement is at the heart of our innovation, and having Orla’s family as part of this journey will make a huge difference. Their lived experience brings invaluable insight to ensure everything we create reflects the real needs, concerns and hopes of the people who matter most – our patients and their families.
We’re so grateful to have Orla and her family with us, helping to shape a brighter future for children with heart conditions.
