Alder Hey Children’s Hospital is seeking technology/approaches to improve the paediatric monitoring of epilepsy. We have a particular interest in approaches for absence and silent seizures.
Background
It can be a worrying time for parents whose children suffer with epilepsy especially at night time when they cannot always be monitored. It is important for people to be aware of what triggers a seizure as this often occurs consistently. A quick response to seizures provides caregivers critical time to get the right medical attention for the patient. Remote epilepsy monitoring can provide a comprehensive range of data that can be used to help monitor, detect and control seizures.
